Reading a market page
A market page is one row per runner (selection). Each runner has a card showing its current best back and lay prices, the last traded price, and your position if you have one. There’s a lot of information packed in — here’s what each piece means.
The header
The header has a back arrow, a two-line title, and a live status chip:
- Name (tap to switch) — the top line. On the runner-cards view it’s the event name — tap it to jump to another event in the same competition. On the ladder it’s the runner name — tap it to switch to another runner in this market (this replaces the old swipe-between-runners gesture).
- Market (tap to switch) — the gold link directly under the name. Tap it to change which market you’re trading on this event — Match Odds, Over/Under, Correct Score, and so on. Long market names are trimmed with an ellipsis.
- Status chip — on the right, full height. Shows the kick-off time before the off, then the live score + match clock or an IN-PLAY / SUSPENDED / CLOSED state once things are under way.
Cash Out (when you hold a position) sits in the footer at the bottom of the page, the same place on both the cards and ladder views.
A runner card
Each card has four tiers, top to bottom:
Top: name and last traded price
The runner name (Aston Villa, Midnight Garden) and a coloured stripe indicating whether the runner is still active. Below the name, the LTP — last traded price — and the runner’s individual matched volume. LTP is what the last person paid; it’s the closest thing to a “current price” but it’s a snapshot, not an offer you can take.
Middle: depth strip
The horizontal grid of 6 prices showing 3 best lays | 3 best backs (or the other way round if reversed). Each cell is a price + the size available at that price. Blue cells are backs you can take; pink cells are lays. Tap a cell to place a bet at that price (more on this in Placing a bet).
LADDER button
Opens the full vertical ladder for this runner — the proper trading view. See Using the trading ladder.
Footer: your position
Two pieces of information about your bets on this runner:
- If-this-wins P/L — pinned to the right, shows what you’ll win or lose if this specific runner wins. Green is profit, red is loss. It accounts for every matched bet you have on every runner in this market — so backing Villa £2 at 2.62 shows +£3.24 on Villa’s card and −£2 on Fulham’s card and −£2 on the Draw card.
- Unmatched indicator — on the left, an amber pill showing how many of your bets on this runner are still sitting in the queue waiting to be matched. Tap it to jump to
/ordersand manage them.
If you have no bets on the market at all, the footer is empty.
Why “if this wins” rather than “current P/L”
In a live market, “current P/L” depends on what price you’d close at, which changes every second. “If this wins” is settled-state — it’s the locked-in P/L for that outcome, no matter what prices do between now and the end. It’s what most traders mentally track as their position.
When you’re ready to lock in a position regardless of outcome, that’s Cashing out.
